Rev. Thomas F. Fischer
Regional Consultant

Having served in numerous capacities in the Michigan District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), Tom has a passion to motivate congregations to greater effectiveness in ministry.

An avid writer, Tom's writings have appeared in the Alban Institute's "Congregational Resource Book" (the Alban Institute is a nonprofit independent center of learning and leadership development with a focus on congregations). He was also a regular contributor/columnist for “Net Results” (1995-2000), a magazine dedicated to topics on church growth and evangelism. His writings on congregational health, vision and ministry have been utilized by numerous seminaries and denominational leaders. Previously, Tom served as a regional consultant for RSI Stewardship service.

Tom graduated Concordia University, Ann Arbor, Mich., in 1979 with a bachelor's degree and from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., with a master's in divinity in 1983. His passion for studying organizational behavior led him to further studies at Central Michigan University and earned a master's in administration in 1994.

For more than 27 years, Tom served as an ordained clergyman at several churches in Nebraska and Michigan. A church planter, he is the founding pastor of Lord of New Life Lutheran Church, Midland, Mich. He also served as an adjunct instructor for Concordia University, Ann Arbor and Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind. One of his greatest joys was training and equipping adults for lay ministries on behalf of the Michigan District from 1988 to 1994.

As a Regional Consultant for CFS, Tom welcomes the opportunity to lead congregations to greater growth in stewardship.

Tom and his wife Cheryl reside in Michigan.
