In addition to serving as a regional consultant, Dan Johnson has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 1991.
Prior to joining CFS, Dan opened a new advancement office at the Youth Opportunity Center (YOC) in Muncie, Ind., and served as its director. A major gift expansion during his tenure at the YOC included a $1.3 million gift for campus improvements.
Dan earned an associate of arts degree from Concordia Lutheran Junior College (now Concordia University – Ann Arbor), Ann Arbor, Mich., and a bachelor’s degree in education from Concordia Teachers College (now Concordia University Nebraska), Seward, Neb.
Following graduation, Dan taught for three years at Hales Corners Lutheran School in Wisconsin. In 1973, he became a district representative for Aid Association for Lutherans in Fort Wayne, Ind. In 1986, Dan began his full-time development career at Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, where he also assisted with three major capital campaigns. In January 2000, Dan joined the advancement staff of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne as the director of major gifts. At the seminary, he assisted the effort to expand seminary support nationwide with creation of the "Christ for All Times" Annual Fund Gift Society and the "Saints to Seminary" Congregational Gifting Program.
