Allen Helms
Regional Consultant

Allen helps congregations and their leaders grow in the grace of giving through biblically based capital stewardship campaigns. Most of his work has been in the states of Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Experienced in both business and ministry settings, Allen has helped congregations turn ministry visions into reality since joining the LCMS Mid-South District in 2002. His 25 years as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and 13 years in full-time LCMS ministry give him unique insight into the diverse needs of congregations.

His secular work has been mostly in accounting and financial management for manufacturing companies. His ministry experience includes classroom teacher at two different Lutheran elementary schools and, currently, as the executive assistant to the Mid-South District President. He has assisted churches in many different areas of ministry, the most enjoyable being stewardship. His work with CFS gives him the opportunity to be involved in this important area of a congregation's life, working to develop processes tailored to the needs and strengths of the local situation.

Allen graduated from Concordia University Nebraska, Seward, Neb., with a bachelor's degree in education and a Lutheran Teacher Diploma. He later earned a master's degree in accounting from the University of Memphis and is a licensed CPA (inactive).

He and his family reside in Tennessee.
